Utilizing an international, multi-institutional collaborative, we collected retrospective data on idiopathic subglottic stenosis (iSGS) patients. Our study of nearly 500 patients demonstrates that iSGS patients are surprisingly similar (female, Caucasian, otherwise healthy adults). There appeared to be outliers in rates of disease recurrence between centers using similar treatment approaches. The different treatment approaches and the observed outliers in disease recurrence rates raises the potential for improved outcomes through detailed prospective study.
